The South Australian Jockey Club is expecting a Sell-Out crowd for Black Caviar’s final appearance in Autralia before heading to the U.K for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. Just 3,000 of the 30,000 tickets remain for the Goodwood Handicap meeting which will end South Australia’s Group 1 Saturdays.
Black Caviar is such a phenomenon in Australia that the Adelaide and Geelong clash in the AFL has been made early so it doesnt clash with Black Caviar’s Race.
Trainer Peter Moody said a Final decision would be made tomorrow on whether The Black Flash starts in The Goodwood Handicap on Saturday after she gallops at Caulfield on Tuesday.
“She’s fine, All is in order with her, But I’ll gallop her tomorrow and then providing all goes well , We’ll head to The Goodwood”. Moody said from Hong Kong yesterday where his other Group class mare King’s Rose finished down the track in the Champions Mile.
Black Caviar’s world-wide population was shown when Moody stated “Everywhere I went, Everybody wanted to Know how she(Black Caviar) was”.
When Moody was Interviewed by At The Races presenter Matt Chapman about Black Cavair needing to prove herslef in the Diamond Jubilee, Moody said “You have never seen anything like this horse before” and “It would be an absolute tragedy if she went there and got beaten by B-grade sprinters, For half the prizemoney and travelling three quarters around the world”.
Moody also said ” That he wouldn’t be obliged to run her if she was not right”.
